728251During face-to-face interactions we use our speech, but also hand gestures, body posture, facial expression and other cues in order to communicate. Not only what we say, but how we say it, how we move, and how all of this comes together
are important aspects of communication. I am interested in how these complex, multi-layered signals are brought together, and how listeners are able to extract meaning from these complex signals.

I use quantitative measures of speech and movement, such as audio recordings and video- and Kinect-based motion tracking, to understand how multimodal communication unfolds and influences the ongoing interaction.
